Welcome to The Lamb's Wife blog!

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready." -Rev 19:7 KJV ... "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife." -Rev 21:9 KJV

07/02/18 ~ A generation = 70 years

Here's my summary of what a generation of 70 years means from Jesus' {Yeshua's} day down to us today ...

Jesus born: -3 BC

Jesus ministry began: 27 AD

_____________________________________

SUBTOTAL: 3 (BC) + 27 (AD) = 30 years

"And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed ) the son of Joseph, which was [the son] of Heli," {Luke 3:23 KJV}

Jesus dies and resurrects after a 3-1/2 year ministry

_____________________________________

SUBTOTAL: 27 (AD) + 3 (.5) = 30 AD (Passover Lamb)

"A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation." {Psalm 22:30 KJV}

Since a generation is seventy years ...

"The days of our years [are] threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength [they be] fourscore years, yet [is] their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." {Psalm 90:10 KJV}

_____________________________________

SUBTOTAL: 30 AD + 40 years = 70 years, or 70 AD

Exactly 40 years after Jesus' death & resurrection in 30 AD, Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD and the Jews dispursed into the world. Even though (King) Jesus died/resurrected in 30 AD (at age 33+), Israel was granted an extra 40 years to repent, the life of a King, THE KING, should have lived 70 years {Now He lives for eternity}.

King Jesus' life was patterned prior by king David who was an example of the life of a king ...

"David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, [and] he reigned forty years." {2 Samuel 5:4 KJV}

"And the time that he reigned over Israel [was] forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three [years] reigned he in Jerusalem. And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead." {1 Chronicles 29:27-28 KJV}

By 70 AD, Israel had not repented. Israel did not turn back to God but rather went a whoring among the nations.

This prophecy has a dual fulfillment, once in Daniel's day, and again in our day ...

"In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem." {Daniel 9:2 KJV}

In our time, the seventy years are -bookends- to "the times of the Gentiles".

1948 AD Israel becomes a nation after 1878 years out of her homeland.

2018 AD "And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth." {Isaiah 23:15-17 KJV}
