A quick article to document a *discovery* I've been brought to about the likely origin of the Lord's prayer.

I believe that Revelation's harlot is speaking of Jerusalem, here are some scriptures to back me up ...
{Rev 11:8 KJV} And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. {"their" being the two witnesses}
The women/harlot is that great city ... harlot, woman, city:
{Rev 17:3 KJV} So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
{Rev 17:7 KJV} And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
{Rev 17:18 KJV} And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Yes, I know, most people think the harlot city is Rome, but they are wrong. The bible generally concerns itself with the people and land of Israel, not the other nations (although they do pay for their sins also). We have such a bad tendency to *westernize* the bible, this should not be. It's always been an eastern book written by Jews/Israelis for their people. We, the church, are an interlude, but otherwise the good book is not about us.

ALL of the prophets of old, and even the new such as John the Baptist and Jesus, warned Israel/Jerusalem of what would happen if they continued in their harlotry against God. They looked to *other gods* instead of the One True God, and after continued warnings they were ultimately vomited out of the land for almost 2,000 years. And now that they're back in the land there is yet again much harlotry going on, and abominations as Israel/Jerusalem takes on the sins of her past captors.

The only harlot, whore, women = that great city, that God has ever been jealous over is Jerusalem. Today she is steeped in sin once again. All I can say is ... God is watching and a time of retribution, Jacob's trouble, is coming.
This article is not one of hate towards Israel or Jerusalem. I believe they ARE God's chosen people and I know He loves them with great fervor. I also know that the LAST THING the prophets of the past wanted to do was to decry desolation against their own peoples and lands. I say this because this is where I've been led after much study. I don't like it, believe me, I don't. But then, I know ... neither did the prophets that also realized the same things.
I believe the seven mountains are the seven kingdoms that Israel took when they came into the land of Canaan, not seven actual/literal mountains or hills (as some would point to Rome or elsewhere) ... but rather these were the seven nations that Israel sat on for which she adopted their customs and idolatry (harlotry) in the days of Solomon and onward to today. So then, "that great city" is Jerusalem and none other than. It's always been, since the time they came out of Egypt, as it still is today, that she ... Israel, and in particular Jerusalem (the city God chose to put His own name there) have been playing the harlot with the nations of the world. Think about this folks ... God's government is a Monarchy, not a Democracy. Israel, and therefore Jerusalem, have gone a-whoring. The only cities called a "great city" in the bible were: Nineveh {Assyria}, Gibeon, and Jerusalem. I believe Jerusalem is the harlot/whore/city spoken of in Rev 11 and onward.

What we see in Israel today is exactly what we see of those nations that were founded on biblical values (including the UK, US, Canada, etc) ... we, Christians, are not to be this way!

Israel pays God lip service, they call on Him when they *need Him*, as do many professing Christians, and *hope* He shows up ... yet they do not have Him in their hearts. They, for the most part, do not have a relationship with the Living God who firstly manifest Himself to them at their betrothal at Mt Sinai.
I believe where Revelation speaks of disaster for this "great city" it was two-fold, once in 70 AD but another "great tribulation" {aka: the time of Jacob's trouble} is coming after Jesus takes His church/bride to heaven and 'shuts the door' {Mat 25:10, Luk 13:25 KJV}. Israel for the most part is the foolish virgin, along with much of the church that is backsliden or doesn't pursue their Ishi (Husband) with all their heart & soul. Do I pray for Israel, and Jerusalem? YES!

Do I think the modern state of Israel is a fake? NO!

Do I think Jerusalem is that "great city"? YES!

So then, "that great city" is Jerusalem and none other than. It's always been, since the time they came out of Egypt, as it still is today, that she ... Israel, and in particular Jerusalem (the city God chose to put His own name there) have been playing the harlot with the nations of the world. Think about this folks ... God's government is a Monarchy, not a Democracy. Israel, and therefore Jerusalem, have gone a-whoring. The only cities called a "great city" in the bible were: Nineveh {Assyria}, Gibeon, and Jerusalem. I believe Jerusalem is the harlot/whore/city spoken of in Rev 11 and onward.

What we see in Israel today is exactly what we see of those nations that were founded on biblical values (including the UK, US, Canada, etc) ... we, Christians, are not to be this way!

Israel pays God lip service, they call on Him when they *need Him*, as do many professing Christians, and *hope* He shows up ... yet they do not have Him in their hearts. They, for the most part, do not have a relationship with the Living God who firstly manifest Himself to them at their betrothal at Mt Sinai.
I believe where Revelation speaks of disaster for this "great city" it was two-fold, once in 70 AD but another "great tribulation" {aka: the time of Jacob's trouble} is coming after Jesus takes His church/bride to heaven and 'shuts the door' {Mat 25:10, Luk 13:25 KJV}. Israel for the most part is the foolish virgin, along with much of the church that is backsliden or doesn't pursue their Ishi (Husband) with all their heart & soul. 11/21/16 ~ At the name of Jesus ...
Today's post is in response to a FB *friend*, who is no longer a *friend* (she blocked me) as she didn't like some of my responses to her post about using Jesus' Hebrew name, Yeshua, instead of the English form, Jesus.
For those who think people are *not* saved ... if they refer to the Lord as "Lord" (saying the term is referring to Baal, a pagan deity - maybe I'll take this one on another time) and/or to call the Savior, "Jesus", instead of Yeshua ... I have to strongly DIS-agree.
I was saved under the name of Jesus, long before I heard His Hebrew name {Yeshua, which in itself is a transliteration of the Hebrew letters/name}. He knows Who He is and He's in the hearts of every true believer. It's not all about a name, although it's great to know His Hebrew name and especially the meaning of it {Salvation}. I, for one, don't know the correct Hebrew spelling nor pronunciation - yes I know, there are many that claim they *know* and have the only truth and they all conflict with each other to some degree or another! This is confusion, which is NOT of God {1Co 14:33 KJV}.
I am not ashamed to know my Lord and refer to Him by the English name for which I came to know Him, that being Jesus, the Christ (Messiah/Meshiach, the Anointed One), my Lord (Master, to Whom I am a willing slave) and Savior.
There is something for which people that -claim- you should only refer to Him by the name of Yeshua seem to have missed and that's that Jesus/Yeshua has a "new name" and those that are His will know it
... and it may well be that His "new name" IS Jesus

{Phl 2:9-11 KJV} Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I'm just not dogmatic about what to call Him, whether it's Yeshua, Yahushua, Yashua, Yehoshua, Joshua, Yoshua, etc, or just ... Jesus ... He knows those that are His.
Go ahead, speak the name of Jesus to anyone and see what kind of reaction you get, especially from non-believers. The only ones that care to insult Him by His Hebrew name Yeshua {Salvation} do so in a derogatory manor by calling Him, yeshu. Call Him Jesus and the whole world is angry at you. Call Him Yeshua and you'll only annoy some Jews. Even now, fellow Christians are attacking other believers who call Him by His English name of Jesus. This is very dangerous, especially to new believers! Shame on you!
So then, what are the *conditions* of salvation? Anything more or less is simply learning ... to profess people aren't saved because they don't call Jesus by His Hebrew name is shameful and I recommend that you go by scripture, which says NO SUCH THING:
{Act 16:31 KJV} And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

And let me make myself clear ... I am not against those of the "sacred name" community of believers. I applaud their work and I agree there is much to be learned by studying Hebrew and understanding our Judeo-Christian origins. What I am against are those that profess that if you don't use Jesus' Hebrew name, Yeshua, then you are 1) not saved and therefore 2) going to hell ... that's just absurd and UNbiblical!
*Someday* we'll be calling Him by a "new name", perhaps we already are! A day is soon coming when EVERYONE will know His name for sure ;o}

NOWHERE in the bible does it say that if you don't refer to Him by His Hebrew name you are damned, "on the wide road to destruction" as my post-haste *friend* wrote ... NOWHERE. What it does say is to believe ON or IN Him. It's already hard enough to be saved in this day & age of scoffers and mockers, please, don't complicate matters further.
And let me make myself clear ... I am not against those of the "sacred name" community of believers. I applaud their work and I agree there is much to be learned by studying Hebrew and understanding our Judeo-Christian origins. What I am against are those that profess that if you don't use Jesus' Hebrew name, Yeshua, then you are 1) not saved and therefore 2) going to hell ... that's just absurd and UNbiblical!
*Someday* we'll be calling Him by a "new name", perhaps we already are! A day is soon coming when EVERYONE will know His name for sure ;o}

To my brethren in the Lord ...
{Mat 7:13-14 KJV} Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Every time I want to hide in the corner, fearful of what I may suffer for being *outspoken* for His name's sake; I see Him hanging on that cross for ME. I hope this resonates for you as well because He hung there and died for you too. As the end-time bride, you need to -decide- if you are going to stand for Him, come what may, or try to hide and hope you're not noticed. Think.
{Mat 16:24-27 KJV} Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Are you awake and ready? Or are you asleep or worse, ill-prepared? {Mat 25's parable of the 10 virgins comes to mind, which are you?} Are you ashamed of Him or His word? Are you afraid of potential persecution? Don't you know that your actions, or lack thereof, speak louder than words? Think.

NO, you can't. We are to be witnesses to those that will come after us, just like the believers of the ages, all of us -Esthers- in the making, born for such a time as this! We are writing our witness of the Lord, the One whom we've believed in but not yet seen, just as the apostles, disciples, and prophets of old did for which we are now the beneficiaries. Think.

Be careful of what you 1) listen to, 2) read, and 3) watch ... even the voices of other Christians. Jesus is not my Boyfriend, He's my God & my Creator, I don't *desire* Him to be anything else. As a friend of mine notes on my fb group ... this is the "Spirit of perversion or as the Bible states seducing spirit."
My advice? Be mindful of what you hear & see! Even music ... especially Christian music ... because the devil is prowling about seeking whom he may devour; he does a lot of that in TV and music whereby we're lulled to sleep. If you have favorite songs for instance, you should at least take time to look up the lyrics and see if they honor God or not. The devil lulls by the music but the words are where the power truly lays ... WHAT is coming out of your mouth? We will ALL be held accountable for -every- -idle- -word- and that includes what we are singing. This is why I periodically remind people to watch what goes in their ear & eye gates.
{Mat 15:17-18 KJV} Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. -Jesus

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need. And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all [men] come to him.
{Jhn 3:27-32 KJV} John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I [must] decrease. He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until [the time] come when ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. {This prophecy is thought to have a dual fulfillment: the first was in 70AD when the Romans destroyed the temple, sacked Jerusalem, and sent the Jews into exile worldwide; the second fulfillment will come about for the same reason as the first ... spiritual adultery and idolatry ... I believe this is coming sooner than later.}
