"The days of our years [are] threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength [they be] fourscore years, yet [is] their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." {Psalm 90:10 KJV}
May 14, 1948 (5 Iyyar 5708) could NOT have began the count of 70-80 years (Psalm 90:10) BECAUSE the date would have already been PAST for them to be able to declare the beginning of that year, which would have been in April, a month prior. Therefore, the FIRST year they could begin the count would have to have been 1949 - AFTER the war with the Arab/Muslim nations - and AFTER their announcing their state the year prior, which was AFTER the beginning of a new civil year {Exodus 12:2 KJV}.
Biblically, ONCE IN THE LAND (or announcing themselves as a state/nation), God says they were to begin their year in the spring in the month Abib (Aviv - ripe barley) {Exodus 13:4 KJV} so their announcing their state didn't happen until AFTER Passover had already passed on April 23/24, 1948 (14/15 Nisan 5708).
1948/5708 Passover - April 23/24 Shavuot - June 12/13
Also, Israel had announced herself (declared herself a state) during the beginning of the wheat harvest season prior to Shavuot (June 12/13, 1948), not the beginning of the barley harvest near the Passover (April 23/24, 1948). Israel didn't even officially form her first government (Knesset) until the following year, which occurred in late-January of 1949.
Per Wikipedia:
"The Knesset first convened on 14 February 1949 in Tel Aviv following the 20 January elections, replacing the Provisional State Council which acted as Israel's official legislature from its date of independence on 14 May 1948 and succeeding the Assembly of Representatives that had functioned as the Jewish community's representative body during the Mandate era.[20]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knesset
"The 120 members of the first Knesset were elected on 25 January 1949." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_first_Knesset
Israel had a 'provisional state council' ... 'as the Jewish community's representative' ... 'during the mandate era' that first assembled on May 14, 1948 (5 Iyyar 5708). That "provisional state council" was only replaced by the 1st Knesset at its first assembly on February 14, 1949. You can also visit Israel's Knesset website for more history here ... https://main.knesset.gov.il/EN/About/History/Pages/Lobby.aspx
And now on to ... the key:
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: ..." {Leviticus 23:9-10 KJV} <=== "When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof" ... this is speaking of the Passover and barley harvest, which they couldn't have reaped until after they 'came into the land', or came into full possession thereof, which unofficially (in God's view) happened a month AFTER Passover, on May 14, 1948 - and by then it would be the beginning of the wheat harvest, not the barley harvest - because the next verses are referring to the barley harvest and Passover, not the wheat harvest ...
"And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it." {Leviticus 23:11 KJV} ===> the barley harvest had already passed so they couldn't officially begin the count until the following year in the spring of 1949. By then the war was over and Israel formed and convened its first Knesset (government).
1949/5709 Passover - April 13/14 Shavuot - June 02/03
Wikipedia has the date of the "Arab-Israeli War" as: "15 May 1948 – 10 March 1949 (9 months, 3 weeks and 2 days)". <=== Notice the end date? Notice the duration ... just over 9 months, a late birth! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1948_Arab%E2%80%93Israeli_War
This means that Israel was conceived on May 14, 1948 but she was not birthed until March 10, 1949 when she actually won her statehood by winning the war with the Arab/Muslim nations ... and that was BEFORE the barley harvest and its wave loaf offering was to begin, in other words ... BEFORE Passover ... which in that year was on: April 13/14, 1949 (14/15 Nisan 5709).
And yes, a remnant of Israel has always been in the land and they've been following their pre-calculated Hillel II Babylonian-based calendar ...but... it (the land) was NOT in her control until AFTER the Arab-Israeli War that she won and only then could she establish her government BEFORE the upcoming Passover (April 13/14, 1949 - 14/15 Nisan 5709).
Passover of 1949 (April 13/14, 1949 - 14/15 Nisan 5709) is when the Psalm 90:10 count began ...NOT... May 14, 1948. IF Passover of 1949 is the correct time to start the count, and we add 73 years (7 years shy of the 80th year to give a 7-years allowance for the tribulation period), we get the following:
From Thursday, April 14, 1949
(Nisan 15 would be the anniversary of Jesus' death)
*** Added 73 years
Result: Thursday, April 14, 2022
(Nisan 15 would be the anniversary of Jesus' death)
We have to factor in what Jesus said about 'four months then comes the harvest' ... and he said that at Passover ... 4 months is 120 days if each month had 30 days but some have 29 or you can average each to 29.5 days so 116 - 120 days for all four months and that brings us to August 11/12, 2022 (if going by the full moon, dawn following, as "new moon day"). So then, we add another 4 months ...
"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." -Jesus {John 4:35 KJV}
I wrote a blog post about the "four months" ...
https://thelambswife.blogspot.com/2021/05/052421-four-months-then-harvest.html
From Thursday, April 14, 2022
(Nisan 15 would be the anniversary of Jesus' death)
*** Added 4 months
Result: Sunday, August 14, 2022
To this we could add to the 3rd day for Jesus' resurrection ...
From Sunday, August 14, 2022
*** Added 2 days (3 days in all):
===> 1st day-Aug 14
===> 2nd day-Aug 15
===> 3rd day-Aug 16
Result: Tuesday, August 16, 2022
!!! HOWEVER !!!
There is the question of when is the "new moon" by some of us. I believe Israel's observance of the "crescent moon", rather ...and much worse... their pre-calculated Hillel II Babylonian-based calendar, is incorrect and I believe scripture as well as extra biblical text backs me up on that. In short, I believe the FULL moon is "new moon", or rather - the REnewED moon (full light as in the day of its creation) - is the first day of the month, not the conjunction/dark phase and not the crescent/sliver first sighting phase. Israel has brought her Babylonian moon names to their calendar and is still following that Babylonian-based calendar, not God's calendar.
I wrote my opinion of that subject here ...

IF we're counting from the 4 months being full moon to full moon (or new moon to new moon being the full moon), then we land at August 14, 2022 for the "harvest", which is the 3rd day from the full moon of August 12th @ 4:35AM IDT. WOW, August 12-14 could be it (the rapture!) ... I can hope, right!?
It's interesting to me that Israel will be celebrating her version of Valentine's Day, called Tu B'Av (15 Av), which is SECOND ONLY TO YOM KIPPUR IN IMPORTANCE, on August 12th this year so it is also a high watch for me! I've written a few blog posts about Tu B'Av, and although the dates have changed, this specific one from 2016 goes into a lengthy explanation of why I feel Tu B'Av is a HIGH WATCH time every year until the Lord's appearing, which I hope is soon ...

Israel is the "fig tree", and in Jesus' words, documented by His three witnesses, we see that end-time generation's fulfillment:
"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." {Matthew 24:32-34 KJV}
"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." {Mark 13:28-30 KJV}
"And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." {Luke 21:29-32 KJV}
Whatever day/s are 'watch' and 'high watch' times, I believe we have arrived to the end of the "times of the Gentiles" also known as the "age of grace" (the seven seals of the book of Revelation) and our departure at His appearing as seen in Revelation 7:9-17 is very near. Up next, beginning at Revelation 8:1 is the first half of the 7-year tribulation period - that being the trumpet judgments with the 2nd half of the tribulation period being the bowls/vials judgments - you can't read what's inside (the contents of) a scroll until all the seals are broken, only then can you unroll it and read what is within, I've already written about that here ...

The only thing I have a different view on now (seeing through a glass dimly as we do) from my previous blog articles is that 1949 may be the correct year to begin the count of Psalm 90:10's 70-80 years and not 1948. Either way, we wind up on a high watch around mid-late August 2022.
As I always say, "Here's to hoping for sooner than later!" Are you ready & watching?
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." -Jesus {Luke 21:36 KJV}

Welcome to The Lamb's Wife blog!
"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready." -Rev 19:7 KJV ... "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife." -Rev 21:9 KJV
